Little Red Ridding Hood, Modern Style.

My Most recent illustration for class. Oil on board/digital, 20in x 15in.   Little red ridding hood waiting for the bus to grandmas house.  decided against a actual shadowy figure.   I like the more implied danger giving buy the gang tag as compared to an actual figure.

I recently have been attending the life drawing sessions offered at the "Art Shop" in Springville, to help me keep up on my life drawing skills. This is my drawing from todays session 09/01/12. The life drawing class is open to the public 10 am- 1pm, and the cost is 10$ for three hours. so not to bad a price. a lot of it is do it yourself, but you can receive instruction and pointers if you ask for them.

here is a piece i did for fun of princess zelda.  a friend ask if i could draw her. i at the time i wasn't sure. so after looking at some photos and reference shots this is what i came up with. line drawing is done on paper and cleaned up in photo shop. the coloring was all done digitally in photoshop.

All in a dwarfs day work.

This is a personal project i am working on. it started out as just a head sketch of a dwarf profile. i got he idea for the face as i was driving home from work one day and saw the shadow that one mnt. ride was casting on another, and thought it made a really cool face profile silhouette, so i sketched out  a rough really quick and built it from there. its cool what inspiration nature can provide.

start of the value mapping, a little more work to be done value wise.

Project #4 figure painting, spring 2012
"the spirit of spring"
Project #3 figure painting, spring 2012.
"Al at the work bench"
we had to do a figure painting of some one working. i work for, springville city in the parks and rec department. one of my co workers is named, al, and every winter he sharpens the blades for the chain saws they use for the urban forestry department.
Project #2 figure painting, spring 2012

Project #1 for my figure painting class this pass semester. This class was my first go at figure painting. i really enjoy painting the human figure, because it is something we all can relate to see as we are all human. the best part about the human figure is that all it takes is the slight change in guester or tilting of the head, or placing of the arm and you have a story.
